« Half-body/half-wave », Ada LaNerd oscillates between undisciplined proletarian and transdisciplinary performer. Active member of the hackerspace since 2013, she evolves at the intersection between arts, sciences and society in what she likes to call infra art.

All along the year 2026, I'll have the immense joy to invite you to visit the exhibition Magnanrama, in memoriam of Nathalie Magnan (1956-2016). Chloé Desmoineaux, Bobby Brim and myself have created the installation Worm:Win32/Badtrans.B@mm, standing by the side of works by Nathalie Magnan, Shu Lea Cheang, Cindy Coutant, Guerrilla Girls, DeeDee Halleck, Barbara Hammer, Old Boys Network, Paper Tiger Television, Clara Pasteau, Julia Scher, The Yes Men, VNS Matrix.

Ada LaNerd takes part to most of the activities of the hackerspace.

Infra art and popular hacking

I oscillate between arts, sciences and politics by what I like to call infrastructural art: creating infrastructures allowing free expression on their own. I share with the rest of the Hackstub's team an approach of hacking closely tied to popular education, preferring therefore to refer to as popular hacking, where everyone is considered legitimate to criticize and take over technologies the way we want to.

We fight against technological empires, technofascism and captivating, alienating platforms. Smart things make us dumb and, rather than so-called artificial "intelligence", we like to develop our collective intelligence in a dynamic of restoring community agency.

Hacking -> Hacqueen -> Hacqueer

We like to hack the same way we like to embody self-defense beyond its physical boundaries, intertwined with our digital extensions, celebrating our excentricity and addressing the social issues raised by our privileges and oppressions. We approach computer science as self-defense for a wider emancipation, priorizing community solidarity over all.

I involve in most activities of the hackspace, its daily life and in welcoming newcomers.

  • in 2026: PMR446_Tx_Mux, a 4-channel, SDR (gnuradio), Walkie-Talkie transmitter for Roy Köhnke's Public Display of Affection;
  • in 2024: NGI TALER, a free software payment system, with the ASBL petites singularités;
  • since 2023: fem / Writing A Fucking Femual
  • Power Supply Crates: set of modular, solar/battery-powered systems (radio studio, sound system, zadacenter)
  • Knock Knock Radio: interactive, FM radio-based doorbell
  • It's always 13:12: hacking radio clocks
  • Thanatotechnics/technospiritism: reviving the minitel to interact with the deads
  • Radio Toc Toc: multimodal (FM + LAN + other technologies) doorbell for collective buildings.
  • Queergo : modular cargo-bike (soundsystem, radio studio, hackerspace, powerstation).
  • Radio VNR : collaborative radio for the social movements.
